This season we have achieved a surpassed all what we set out to do.

To start with the junior teams have had a great season with the under 15s winning their league unbeaten and reached the semi-final of the cup, captained by umair Iqbal and managed by Liam Brearley also the under 17s winning their league captained by Adam Frost and managed by Ian Pratt.

The under 9s and 11s and 13s also had good progressive seasons.

I would like to say a big thank you and congratulations to the junior section led by Dax Sowery on a very good season

The First X1 have played excellent exciting cricket led by Michael Kelsey this season culminating in winning the 2nd division championship with a game to spare and getting to the Priestley cup semi-final and also the 20/20 cup semi-final. The enjoyable thing on this season has been the team effort with everybody contributing whether it be bat, ball or in the field.

Nawaz Sardar our overseas cricketer has had his best season with over 1000 club runs and over 50 wickets. We have also had 3 other batsman with over 500 runs and another 2 bowlers with over 50 wickets.

I would like to thank and congratulate Michael Kelsey and all the team and those that have filled in when required for their effort and hard work in achieving what we set out to do.

The Second X1 are in the enviable position of being top of Division 2 with 1 game to go already promoted, I would like to wish them luck in their last Game at Bowling Old Lane and have full faith in them bringing the championship back to Undercliffe.

Their season also mirrors the first X1 with great team effort led by Phil Dixon with pleasing contributions from our junior players with help from the seniors.

I would like to thank and congratulate Phil Dixon and all the team and those that have filled in when required for their effort and hard work in getting to this position and again good luck in the final fixture.

The Third X1 have had an up and down season with winning the cup which was a great achievement led by Ian Pratt and are hopping to fight off relegation in the last two games, the very positive thing to come out of the Third X1 is the progression of the juniors who when required to step up have not let anybody down with their ability and attitude.

All this wouldn’t be possible without the support from all the cricket committee who have backed me, a special thanks to Mick Brearley for helping me with all my correspondence and reminders!!!

I would also like to thank the members and supporters who have watched and hopefully enjoyed this season as much as I have and let’s hope the season to come is as rewarding. It has also been great to see the players frequent the bar creating a good atmosphere after games.

The hard work has begun to build a team to keep us in the 1st Division next year, and I look forward to your continued support next season.
